>The kid with the cocky smirk and determined eyes>The kid with the backwards baseball cap and cool bangs peaking through>The kid that admires his reflection in the window reflection in his house like he's the suavest dude of all time>The kid that's from the Pokémon equivalent of Kansai (okay, technically the middle area of Kanto/Johto is Chubu)>The kid that ascended the Pokémon equivalent of Mt. Fuji to battle a legendary Trainer and win>The kid that was savvy enough to have his own mobile phone in 1999>The kid whose starter's name is a combination of Explosion and Typhoon in both Japanese and EnglishTurned him into GOLLY, I SURE LOVE NATURE AND HIKING. DO YOU WANT SOME TRAIL MIX? I HAVE SOME GOOD BERRIES. MAKE SURE TO WAKE UP EARLY AND HAVE THE RIGHT SUPPLIES. WE'RE SUCH GOOD PALORINOS <woodpecker chuckle>. Actually made me see why Silver is so frustrated with him.
And not only that, but he's just not good. Eruption loses a huge amount of power as soon as he takes damage, requiring you to heal the minuscule bit you lost from an AOE move and wasting most of that regained HP. Not only that, but buffing Speed and Evasion (BY SINGLE STAGES NO LESS) can only be done by wasting your healing, meaning you can't even benefit from the tiny boosts until you've already taken damage. He's faster in sunlight? Guess you're forced to waste another slot on Blaine just to make Ethan somewhat usable, or you're forced to use Silver and wait for sync to get sunlight. It takes two bad characters to be as good as one decent one.
