First off, Koharu joins the main cast.
Second off, Go's Pokedex gets a new operating system with a built-in personal assistant and a new voice. Shoko reprises her role with her voice getting pitched up to create a little girl's voice (that she can't otherwise do anymore) with a digitised effect.
Thirdly, Go's fodder captures all become montages so they're shorter and less shit to watch.
Fourthly, the series actually starts being planned out so shit is more coherent and things don't suddenly happen immediately as the plot requires them to.
Fifthly, more effort is made to showcase the different regions with proper effort put into making the different cities look unique and not like any random filler town.
There would be other improvements, but those are the important ones.
