>>34982785Yes, it's a good thing. Real life is just as interesting as it's always been, and people were using fantasy worlds for escapism just as much in the 90's. Pokemon is escapism in that it presents a world that's mostly like ours, but just a bit better and just a bit more adventurous. You ride bikes, you watch wrestling and movies, you take photographs and go surfing, you take the ferry and buy limited edition ice cream. All this sort of stuff adds to Pokemon's childish adventurous spirit by putting that right next to fighting dragons and exploring haunted mansions and ancient caves, not detracts. Pokemon doesn't need to be Final Fantasy to be interesting.
