Its offensive stats aren't too bad (pic related), it comes knowing Flamethrower, and it gets quite a few usable TMs like Bulldoze and Payback to make up for it not learning any good Dragon attacks until later on. The low speed is annoying, but Alola is quite slow in general so it's not too bad. It took out the majority of Grass/Bug/Fire types by virtue of its typing alone and nuked other things with Shell Trap/Inferno Overdrive (probably could have taught it Draco Meteor too; mine had Dragon Pulse but I didn't use it much). Overall I'd say it plays oddly for a Fire type, but I still found it fun and useful, although a lot of its late-game battles seemed to come down to "click Fire move until someone faints".
