>>46951481I have to thank one of my buddies for part of Ming-Ming's character design - The reason why she's an active fighter was inspired by the fact that in the community I'm in, trainers have their own actions in tabletop-inspired quests. Whether you have a trainer who's a frontline fighter, someone who sets up traps or barriers, it feels so refreshing to have trainers and Pokemon feel relevant and important.
The big thing is that I wanted a character who could both defend themselves and also patch up the team, which (And I know I've rambled about this time and time again), made for a character who ends up being a selfless dame who's food has been the opener of many a new relationship. Whether it's someone dreaming of being the number one trainer, a secretive Silph Co employee and MORE, Ming-Ming's found her way into knowing quite a colorful cast of people. Really takes the stereotype of the informative bartender to a different level, huh?
>>46950817Ming-Ming's personal themes hover around the synth-pop/funk hemisphere, The Pleasure Principle by Janet Jackson being a primary example of what I'm talking about.
That said when it comes to battles, I actually like thinking of songs that fit the Pokemon, since they're the ones who are (traditionally) doing the battle, after all!
Here's a song that's on my mind whenever her Flygon, Shabao, is on the battlefield. And yes, I know it's weebshit. Get all your teasing out of the way.
