>>45985125>The "giant Pokemon" thing just makes the battles awkward. Realistically, how would they move? The stadiums would have to be massive, way bigger than they are in-game, and even then, they'd be so slow that the spectacle would be lost.Fucking this, holy shit. They look ridiculous ingame, battles don't make sense anymore. There was always the question of how Pokemon could take Hyper Beams and not die before, but throw in Dynamax and then its like "how the fuck are the enemy Pokemon, trainer and everyone watching not dead from a massive kaiju death ray"?
The game puts a lot of work into showcasing the spectacle of Dynamax with the Pokemon getting massive behind the trainer but the trainer just vanishes as soon as a attack is launched because as soon as you look past the spectacle of "BIG", Dynamax makes zero sense.
Megas are normal battles with the powerlevel amped up, so they still make sense, Dynamax throws any logic out the window for le ebin kaiju battle. I think Dynamax is good for raids and that's it, and even then you can do raids without being married to the Dynamax concept, just like how Gen 7 had buffed boss Pokemon who were strong because of "totem energy" or whatever the fuck.
Dyamax can be completely replaced, all of it, there's not a single aspect of it that really needs to stay.
