It's not fair that their job security be put in danger if they don't satisfy the many customers who decide to buy the game just to criticize it.
How would you like it if someone could come to your place of work, make a judgement on you and determine you had to improve in some specific way or else lost your job?
No other industry has that kind of toxic demand structure, it's not fair to expect it from video game developers.
