He spent a good number of years traveling with Ash, and learning everything about being a Breeder, only to throw it all away in the end? It just doesn't sit well with me unfortunately.
In all honesty, they could have pulled the league earlier, and have Ash screw around in any of DPPt's extra areas, before BW dropped.

AG and May on the flipside, gave viewers something to watch on Ash's downtime, besides his training. For some reason, I don't find Drew, Harley, or Max to be annoying though, but eh.
I feel Ash should have gotten more involved when May was just troubled with Drew's demeanor towards her though. Drew kinda reminds me of Gary in a lot of ways, and Ash's insight probably would have helped May a lot more like that.
