but also like he said, there are tons of variables at play
If you look at my simulation here, comparing [vine whip/power whip] with [vine whip/solar beam], although power whip has a higher dps than solar beam for its time cast, solar beam ends up dealing more damage in a prolonged fight.
This is because using power whip + vine whips to fill the duration you're casting the solar beam, the solar beam does more damage for the full period
That being said, some might prefer power whip over solar beam due to its shorter cast time as you're not left defenseless for as long as you are for solar beam.
A lot of it will come down to personal preference
