They kind of backed themselves into a corner by creating too many shitty/unbalanced pokemon, making too many pokemon that were too thematically similar to each other, and shitting out way too many legendaries. I unironically think the majority of the 800-whatever pokemon that currently exist are kind of dumb and shouldn't have been created to begin with. I mean, an ice cream cone? A fucking toaster? Seriously??
That being said, I think this probably marks the beginning of the end of the franchise. Not that I particularly care, I haven't bought a game in years; I just came here to take a look at the shitstorm.
