>What did it do wrong?Another gen where you can't ride your own pokemon. Bizarre handling of the gyms that lends to a lopsided difficulty curve. Anything relating to the visuals and aesthetics are bad (world itself, cities, most characters, NPC trainers, player character, etc). Wild pokemon still don't have any particular overworld behaviors besides positive/neutral/negative reactions to the player. New shinies are terrible.
ZA dropped the ball in most places as well. The combat is "alright" but I was pretty tired of it by the time I wrapped up, didn't like the mega battles, has some other gameplay problems like the fucking turning to day/night screen, story is basically just dropped spaghetti shit gets threads that go nowhere, city setting is nonsensical, all the builders look the same so you don't even know where you are in the city, for being the fashion region the fashion is not very good, just no bueno.
