It's one of the reasons Amour has yet to be topped for me. They just bring out the best in eachother so well that even when they fight it's not just a petty argument that gets resolved then forgoteen next episode. They grow so much that Serena is the reason Ash mastered Ash greninja which echoes throughout the rest of the series. When another girl tops that (which is possible) I'll easily drop and leap.
But it seems you're more upset that she fought with him at all and honestly if you think "Main girl calling the protagonist on his shit so he can get better" is a bad thing then I think Sword Art Online is more your speed.
