Changing HP in a Mega form works with Shedinja and Shedinja only because its current HP can always revert to 1 out of 1 after battle without raising questions, and although it still can’t switch in on Smogon Stones before Mega Evolving, it now has the necessary bulk to withstand literally any indirect damage. Not only does the ability reduce the number of types that can hit it, but also gives a boost to Mega Shedinja’s otherwise still laughable defenses.
