Gens 1, 2 and even 3 have always been generally praised, although Gen 1 and 3 would catch slack from some for being too buggy/too much water, respectively.
The 'bad' level curve boogeyman, distribution meme (debunked, see pic related), and "Typhlosion has the same stats as Charizard, therefore the entire game is le bad xD" are all things that barely ever got mentioned before that retarded video. If you complain about the level curve in any of the existing Pokemon games, you are just straight up bad at the game. Stop blaming the game for your own shittyness.
