RSE had a pretty stark change in designs, and they're my favorite games. I like a majority of the Gen 7 reveals thus far.
It doesn't matter to me what Gamefreak intended. It's just one of the shortcomings of what looks like a pretty decent generation. It's a blatant bad design, and doesn't look like a Pokemon.
