What should I play to get my favorite Pokemon that arent in Sun Moon?

Got Sun Moon on a whim (didnt plan to play them), and liked them a lot.
Some of my favorite Pokemon arent in them, like Vileplume, Bronzong, Ambipom.
Should I play some old game to get them through pokebank or will everything be up for trade soon in GTS?
Is there a benefit to buying red blue? is it true they always get the hidden abilities?
Is getting red blue a good idea for moves that arent possible anymore like Chansey with tri attack?
