Arceus is also the Alpha Pokemon, Zygarde the Omega. Xerneas and Yveltal also represent life and death, i.e. the beginning and end of things.

In Kirby, Dark Matter is a villainous black blob with an eye which spawns from Zero, a giant white blob. They represent some concept of eerieness that is never explained but was once hinted at as bitterness and jealousy for being left out of the fun life has to offer. Zero, at least, is somehow organic (like Regigigas) for it is bleeding in battle, yet Dark Matter spawning from it (Regi Z?) is simply a sphere of darkness.
