It's also not a secret that the people who don't like it are 30+ year old people that have EXTENSIVE knowledge of the games to the point that the games are - in general - boring to play because their knowledge is enough to carry them through the games.
It's not a secret that the GSC/HGSS level curve exists. But these """high profile""" twats have the knowledge to win, and if all it takes is one pokemon to beat the game, they'll do it. Of course the shit is easy, but that's not how you would have been meant to play the fucking game.
Ironically, I'm of the mind that it's these kinds of people is why characters like Cynthia started existing with varied teams. Blue may have been the first, but he was a mirror to the player throughout the journey of R/B/G/Y.
