Gen 7's best addition, regional forms, wasn't even that well fleshed out. It was only for Kanto mons, and not for many of them even. Most of them are good at least, you have really significant changes like Raichu, Sandshrew/Sandslash, Vulpix/Ninetales, Exeggutor and Marowak and the rest are fine too but then you have Digglet/Dugtrio and Meowth/Persian. Would it have hurt to give us some more? There's a lot of potential. I would've loved an Alolan Butterfree, for example. Make it Bug/Psychic, give it a nice tropical pattern on its wings. Gen 7 is just massively wasted potential, honestly. The concepts it had could've been done well but it just wasn't. I guess I'll give Alolasomes that at least, Gen 8 never even had potential. But Gen 7 still sucked ass.
