It was a little better for me since I usually didn't know kino was coming, but I imagine it being a lot worse when you KNOW there's kino ahead and you get thrown into a character switch for 10+ minutes and get basically nothing done storywise before switching back (Eda and (somewhat) Sakura's palace swaps come to mind)
