I would be mocked relentlessly for playing these games. I was Shat on and made a social leper just for playing gens 2-4 in middle/high school.
Now not only are these same assholes playing this game en mass but they have actively made this intrest worse by blindly continuing to buy into this lazy nostalgia pandering cash grab regardless of how shit it is because they are fans of the fandom rather than of the actual game.
These games are dead because Gamefreak knows they don't have to try.
