>>14626977Back in the time-space continuum, you take some deep breaths, "Oh my god...OH MY GOD THAT WAS KICKASS! I didn't think I'd be able to get away with it but I did! Now we have two of these things!"
"Well, not really."
"Eh?"
Miss Leading takes both of the rings out of your hands gently, and then dangles them in front of you, "Isn't this ring, the one you just nabbed, simply a precursor of *this* ring, the one they gave us in the present?"
"....Yeah? So what?"
"If you stole the Time Ring from them in the past, I'm pretty sure the present one is going to disappear. In fact I could go as far as to say that you joshed not only their plans in-between that point in time and the present, but also their future schemes as well." just as your luck would have it, the "present" Time Ring indeed, disappears in her own hand.
"Calem, unless my knowledge of time travel is spotty, and it isn't, I believe you've created a time paradox where none of this has ever happened."
"Oh...So what happens now?"
"If memory serves, our body particles are supposed to grow continually lighter and lighter until they dissolve into nothingness. The current timeline is then adjusted for, and our bodies are tossed back to a point where the potential paradox is kept at bay enough for us to re-live in the past."
You grab Froakie rather protectively, "That...sounds like it's going to hurt."
"Only slightly."
Mere moments later, your body is encompassed by a light that causes you to burn and turn into light.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME LIKE THAT!? THIS *DOES* HURT!"
