The anime begins to suck in the middle of season 1.
Remember all those "best episodes" people always talk about? Bye bye butterfree, goodbye pikachu? Ash in the snow with his pokemon? The island of giant pokemon?
All before the middle of season 1.
After that, the writers simply stopped giving a fuck and the tired character-of-the-day+team rocket began in full force.
They've started to broadcast Pokemon again in my country (France) and it's even more blatant once you're an adult. Most of the good and memorable episodes are before Ash has four badges...
Then it stays alright up until his 6th one.
Then it's filler fest.
