Would stepping out into the second route and getting into a trainer battle against Chimecho, Sudowoodo, Mr. Mime, or Chansey be all that fair to novice players or even to those the least bit unprepared? Those Pokemon are much stronger/bulkier than early-game Pokemon like Pikachu, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, and Marill. There's a reason why you don't encounter Pokemon like this until at least after around the 3rd Gym. These are not Pokemon you want to go up against with your level 10 starter, but their Baby stages would be fair fight.
