For the girls it started in G7, Chicken chan, Gloria, and Julia are practically the same generic girl, no more extravagantly colored hair or crazy anime hairstyles (I'm talking about the default designs)
The same goes for the spinoffs, Go, Lets Go, Snap, Unite, Master ex; a girl with brown hair with a small ponytail.
I understand that it is done so that players insert themselves using simple designs and practically no personality, but I miss crazy designs like Solana's or Wes, something that screams Pokemon character from the rooftops and not another generic isekai character.
