>>57026693>Wanna tell us a bit more about the Erikos region?Sure thing. I posted an earlier draft of the region's map a couple weeks ago but here's the (probably) final version.
Erikos' creation myth starts with the creation of the titanic Pokemon Ymarok that was said to be born of the melding of flame and ice. From its body the legendary Pokemon of the region were born, the first of which rallied its brethren and did battle against the titan, slaying it and using its body to create the land of the region itself. (The craggy-looking island in the north is the remnants of this battle, it's actually a giant hole in the ocean that the water flows into)
In the past Erikos' people were known for their sea-faring warrior culture until missionaries from surrounding regions such as Kalos traveled and settled, eventually turning the Erikosians over to their way of life.
During the war in Kalos, Erikos was initially ambivalent to the conflict, but when the power of the ultimate weapon spread to Kalos' neighbors, Erikos was convinced to join the war to stop its firing. Countless Erikosians and their Pokemon perished as a result of the war. The legendaries of Erikos honored those fallen in battle by erecting monuments to the people lost, and immortalizing their Pokemon in mega stones.
Nowadays Erikos is known for its mastery of the sea with its highly advanced seafaring both using traditional boating methods and "living boats" in the form of Erikosian Wailord and their evolution Wailnarr, stemming from ancient boating techniques used by their warrior ancestors. They have a highly advanced and lucrative shipping economy, profiting a lot from trade with other regions, with roughly 20% of cargo ships in the world being of Erikosian origin. The company that's at the forefront of this business is the Erikos Freighting Company.
