I love these two but the fact that we barely see them actively working on their skills/goals is such horseshit. We have wasted so many episodes on shit that doesn't matter in the latter half of this show. People hated the Goh focus early on, but now he hardly gets any episodes to himself. How is that better? Having one of the main characters do nothing for upwards of twenty episodes straight fucking sucks. There are also hardly any training episodes for Ash, which is obviously a slippery slope, because training wank can get repetitive and boring, but seeing him come up with a trick that he'll use later is always satisfying.
Ash has gotten the better treatment in the last few months, but the fact that we went three months without a Goh focused episode is just ridiculous. I'm absolutely ready to be sold a new main character, I'm not an Ash Ketchum ride or die like most, I loved the shake up of having lots of Goh episodes, but now I'm just starting to get annoyed with his inclusion because he's really stagnated. If I were to change anything about this series, I'd have removed Eevee entirely, make the Masters 8 less about Leon and more about everyone, and I'd make most battles and trial missions two parters. I'd make Ash and Goh lose or fail a few times too.
