Is arguably tied with Blaziken for being the most promoted out of the three Hoenn starters (If not just a hair behind)
And Sceptile's been great to use both in RSE and ORAS, so I dunno what you're on about there

Sceptile's biggest issue is using it competitively. It's definitely hampered by its stats, with such a diverse physical movepool, yet its stats focus on special attack. If they either expanded its special movepool to reflect its physical movepool, or just swapped its Atk and Sp Atk, it'd be so much better.
That and IMO its Hidden Ability could've been better. Unburden is nice, but with Sceptile being so fast already, I feel something like Adaptability, Tough Claws (With the stat swap), or even Protean would bode well for it. Its Mega should've gotten Regenerator too, given the gimmick with its tail.
