本編 = Honpen or 'Original Work'. In the context of Pokemon this always means the main core series. You can google that, look up the Pocket Monsters wikipedia page etc. if you don't believe me.
So from this information it seems the distinction is clear that the 2018 game isn't considered part of the original series or 'Core games' as we call them over here.
