>>21192995Narrator/Nuzleaf/Mewtwo's motivation: to hook Ruby on the idea of a grand destiny-packed quest. It's along the same line as Dr. Facilier's song from The Princess And The Frog.
Norman and Vigoroth's love song, when animated, will switch between Norman's and Ruby's perspective. In Norman's own little delusional bubble, he's picturing Good-Ruby to be all handsome-face (pic related) and it'll be singing along in tune. But from Ruby's point of view, his weirdo dad is just transfixed, crouching by a mangy weird sloth thing that's making grunts and snorts with flies coming off it.
As for the Victory Road song, that one DOES come out of nowhere, but that's kind of the point. It's supposed to be gratuitous and nonsensical. But the comic does things like that where the art style will suddenly change to make a joke or just for cool points.
It's really just a matter of pulling off the context.
