>>39331218>How can anyone defend thisIt's quite simple actually. Pokemon isn't just a series, it's a media empire that's too big to fail. No matter what they do it will always get defended. That's the power of brand loyalty and nostalgia. It doesn't matter if SwSh looks like an upscaled 3DS game. All this complaining will be looked back upon with laughter from the general public when it sells well and gets great reviews (Gen 6 and Gen 7 got great reviews too). The hardcore fanbase that endlessly bitches about it will just be seen as the cancerous side of the fandom because the general public isn't concerned with the complaints of autists, Pokemon is Pokemon. If you got new monsters, a new region, and new characters they don't give a shit what you do with it because Pokemon is the kind of series where people claim to be "huge fans" but in reality they're just normies. Kind of like the Star Wars fandom. It's a series where it's so iconic that everyone plays it regardless if they actually care about the series as a whole. The cries of the hardcore fanbase are minuscule and even mocked.
