I shit you not in XY they exclusively used Ash in the title cards even though the whole point of it was to show which character was getting focus, solely to not confuse or upset people where women getting priority over men is bad. (the only time they kept the title card gimmick was in 2 US only episodes.)
Judging by the voice direction I doubt the even watch the episodes in japanese and just translate script and throw the episode together
