Red woke up and went back to Viridian Forest to train a lot to get past Mt. Moon. Then, he entered the cave and fought through many Spinaraks, Digletts, Spheals (he really wanted one) and even a Vulpix! Sadly, Albert got killed from a trainer's Pineco Self-destruct. After many foughts, Jason evolved into a Charmeleon and led the team to Cerulean. Before arriving at the city, Red caught Russell (the Venonat) on Route 4 and arrived at the PokéCenter to heal. Green challenged him on the bridge with a lv. 17 Chikorita, a lv. 15 Skitty, a lv. 18 Numel and a lv. 16 Unown E. Luckily, Jason took them all down. Up on Route 24, Red caught Damon (the Treecko) and on Route 25, he caught Hayley (the Mankey). After saving Bill in his weird machine, Red finished training up his team and went to challenge the Gym. The first swimmer used a lv. 16 Shroomish which could stand his own against Tommy, but Jason switched in to save his partner. The swimmer then sent out a lv. 16 Drowzee which lost to Camille. The second swimmer used a lv. 19 Poliwag which easily lost to Damon. Red then challenged Misty who used a lv. 18 Omanyte to battle Damon, and a lv. 21 Pidgeot which fought very well and almost killed Jason, Tommy and Kendall, but finally Dustin sacrificed himself so Damon could finish him with a Quick Attack.
