My friend told me that when you select a Pokemon in the near-you list, then the leaf poof location changes, and that's where they are. I'm trying it now and it does seem to change location when I select different Pokemon. If it weren't dark out, I'd go and see if this is totally true, but it might be promising.
Or do we already know this and I'm a Slowpoke?
