The gemstone stuff is pulled from classic Goblin lore but that's about it. It's eyes, it's movements, and it's design are all pulled from the Hopskinville Goblin. Sableye looks absolutely nothing like a classical Goblin.
Pic related is a classical goblin from the 19th Century. No evolution of the Goblin through the years looks like Sableye either.
