Nature would reclaim our cities (made of steel buildings) very quickly. We think we're "killing" the planet but it's survived worse than us. Pic related.
Also, grass was one of the last immunities I needed to come up with and steel worked the best out of the types I had left. It's a bit of a stretch, sure, but it works. I think it's cooler to think of the grass type as a representative of the power of nature than just some flimsy plants.
