I remember some anon breaking down pic related and how it was bad because it was designed in a way that didn't make it look like a species of creatures able to be found in the wild, but a specific character in a cartoon/anime/game series. Less catchable monster, more set-in-stone archetypical character.
The same thought comes to mind looking at these starters. Like fuck, typing alone shafted the appeal of these guys; throw their designs in the mix and it's just bad all around.
