Have you ever though about breeding in nuzlockes? (Excluding Egglockes and the like)
I sure didn't, but I've been playing Emerald Cross (QoL hack) in Nuzlocke mode and the game woudn't let me hatch the Wynaut egg unless I was in a new area, which made me think on how breeding could be implemented in a kind of balanced way in a run:
>Can only breed with whatever you caught (no cheating by catching extra Pokémon)
>Dead Pokémon cannot breed
>Each set of parents can only breed one egg, once you get the egg neither of the parents or their offspring can breed again.
>The egg must hatch in an area where you can catch Pokémon but haven't found your encounter yet, and it counts as your encounter (For example, you can't hatch it in Lavender as there are no possible encounters, but you can in Vermillion)
This way it's not like you're abusing the system to get infinite Pokémon or you are guaranteed to be able to breed the Pokémon you want as you also need to get lucky with your encounters and their egg groups and genders.
