The genies are great designs. They're terrifying, uncanny beings that would invoke fear would you see one for real in their incarnate forms and unpredictable, beastly beings in their therian forms wherein your life would be entirely in their hands. While their similar designs in the incarnate forms prove disappointing from a standpoint of gameplay, it provides uniform towards their lore - despite their very individual personalities and roles they feel like a collective unit as if they were godly mafia - further exaggerating their power and scary control. Unlike other creatures in the Pokemon World which have similar control over nature the same way they can completely level anything, these monsters are active and of small stature - they could appear before you at any moment without warning. However, in spite of this, they are still kamis. Divine spirits that reward faith with good nature, as potentially benevolent as they are destructive. Easily considerable a friend. But really, that just makes it all the more terrifying should you not be on their good side, doesn't it?
