>>12422030>>12422074I was genuinely amused by the design and concept of both Vanilluxe and Garbodor since I first saw them. It makes me glad to know that GF isn't restricting itself to pursuing the 'cutesy helpless animal'-->'less adorable and less helpless animal'-->'intimidating animal' model and seeks to explore a vast range of niches.
During my genwunner days I had this silent hope that GF would create a mechanical counterpart to Magnemite line - a hope which I then deemed to be without a chance of fulfillment. Push few generations onward and...
- - - My selection of thread-related mons:
>Rhyperior In truth, I stopped caring for original Rhyhorn line as soon as I evolved one into the 'first pokemon ever designed', m-muh Rhydon. From a furious heap of protection plates sprang forth a being which I could only describe back then as Nidoking's retarded brother. Even Kangaskhan looked more consistent and threatening!
-But then gen-4 happened and dubious replacement for a poke rhino got overhauled into a living tank complete with geometrized protection tiles, bearing likeness to modern mechanized armour. I was rather surprised to hear that, all of a sudden, Rhyperior ruined a 'good', 'memorable' pokemon by becoming its succeding evo.
>Gallade I wish to know if he really does belong in this kind of threads - at one time people seem rather content with the fact of his introduction into the franchise, at other - a single mention is enough to spark shrieks of disgust and lengthy, elaborate posts on why he is the worst designed, most useless pokemon and all around worst mistake on GameFreak's behalf. With Honchkrow and Charizard it is at least somewhat clear that the bulk of actual 'hate' is a memetic bandwagon - in case of Gallade I have no idea.
