I build a team of my favorite pokemon and adapt with it through metagame changes using the batte mainson and smogon battles. I plan my rough pokemon team through smogon. I plan moves evs and such then battle them against opponents. Any common themes and weaknesses i see in my team I make changes by changing movesets and pokemon. After I get as far ex. I stop playing when strategies stop getting unique. too many lando and Heatran that are easy to deal with. I move this draft and label it as first draft. The first draft is then replicated in games. Then it gets tested through battle mansion. Second round testing begins where i weed out the viable from the weak. Then as soon as i find a viable strategy i keep that team. Thats how iv been doing battles.

Those are suggestions to what everyone else uses and possible strategies you should look out for. You should come up with strategies and pokemon on your own and not be afraid to make mistakes. When somethings not working you improve on it. Save replays watch how you battle and stuff. Me and my bro Beedrill will drill our way to the top
