(had a crazy dream that the gaps could have pegs, and when the circle has no badges, the pegs are in place of cities. and every badge once really good has a simple pattern semitransparent overlay. when all the badges are placed the overlay glows, making the snake hidden in the image)
but as for the grass ghost. A dead tree trunk with bendy branches might be good, also a way to trace insect parts.
but either way, badge shapes first, then try to get them to fit. we can deal with gaps and outline buggering when we have great looking badges
We also need to consider the two sizes for the badge. the size it looks when we receive it.(the prettiest look) and the size in trainer card. all this art might be a bit too big for in game size, badges are gonna have to be sprites
