He has a boring color scheme and design. A green grass type with a plant on him? How unique! He has a body type that can barely move. Not going to see much action. The best it can do is shoot leaves. How exciting, right?! It's not like we had a Pokemon with the same body type, same fighting style and same type as a starter in gen 1, with Venusaur.
I don't want to shit on him too much. I don't hate him. I'd say I even like him, more so than Venusaur or most Grass-type Pokemon in general. But he's not something special. He has nothing special going for him. He's not "underrated". Nothing about him deserves to be "rated" higher than it is. He's good, that's all he is.
