I expect Bible-thumping and anti-lgbt rhetoric from the Republicans, but this time around the Republican candidate has a history of being socially liberal and pro-lgbt while the Democrats have a candidate apologizing for / refusing to criticize the most socially regressive religion on the face of the planet. Everything is backwards from what I would expect.
