>>53481321>>53481337So bear with me as this is a massive WIP still in early early early stages.
I tried to more closely capture the geography of Kyushu, but I got a little creative with the islands - you may recognize the southern of the two major islands if you know your American History. I will most likely change that significantly as the reference is a bit too direct.
Sparknotes on plot changes:
>Ancient fight between Groudon and Kyogre escalated to the point of near extinction of all life in Hoenn>Ancestral humans' will manifested and was heard by Jirachi in Deep Space, who called upon meteors to strike the ancestral dens of Groudon and Kyogre>Fighting ceased, and Jirachi imbued Rayquaza with power as lord of the skies to ensure things don't get that bad again. So now, we have a crater at Meteor Falls and in the center of the northeast island.
Otherwise:
>Everything west of Mt Pyre, separated by a spine of mountains, is subject to significant cold weather due to Regice's presence>Center of the map is dominated by a larger Mt Pyre, where it is perpetually desert and sandy mountain paths>Broken off again by a spine of mountains, we enter the eastern portion of the continent, where significant rain and storms roll in off the ocean and are stopped by the mountain range>The Dewford Chain is a series of sea caves and ridgeline rocks>Tides are implemented in most sea routes, allowing the player to proceed on foot from Route 4 to Dewford (an ability to set the time is nearby, just a bed to rest)>Mauville's plot has been expanded to involve New Mauville's pollution rendering Rusturf Tunnel impassable due to the poison (you can try to make it, but your Pokemon each take 1 HP of damage for each step and I'm GOING to make it long enough you can't skip through.>Foretree has migrated a little to the west, and a massive dark forest has been added around the floodplains to the east to keep things varied
