Of course the fact that Pikachu is so friendly might just put a damper on this plot, which is only slightly better than Pokémon Y's original idea, which was that Pikachu, after having discovered that Pikachu could be human with a single touch, has given up hope of becoming human someday. The plot has been improved, however, by bringing back all those Pokémon that are part of the original vision, and introducing a few more that were just too silly to exist.
