This is objectively the weakest defense of a mechanic I can possibly think of, only rivaling Monster Hunter fags not wanting to play World because of some mechanical differences like being able to use consumables while moving while disregarding that the monsters themselves are quicker and attack disadvantaged hunters trying to heal.

You say that Dyna/Giga can only be judged if you play the game, but the formula for Pokemon is SO simple that it doesn't take even a figure out how visually and mechanically retarded it is in practice. Giga forms are, for all intents and purposes, just larger mega forms with 3 rounds of Z-moves. Defending SwSh's gimmick doesnt take three years of disecting and using to understand that conceptually, it is the most asinine form of power creep to exist in the game, with even more assinine visuals to go along with it.

Mewtwo is also the most frail legendary. Basically a glass cannon. If he gets outsped by anything, he was fucked to begin with since he cant take a hit from other legends with comparable stats.
And even then, he needs to actually kill the bulky legends he goes up against. Maxie is easily the most accessible one to beat since Groudon cant deal with special attack, but busting through Kyogre is another task all its own, and M2 runs the risk of getting nuked from orbit by it with stab Hydro Pump.
And the best part is that those two are just single types with nothing else in terms of typing. That's hardly speaking about the other legends that are there that would smoke M2 like a fucking blunt if they chose to.

Serperior was unironically the last surviving starter that didn't have an overtly explicit theme. Regal snake is the closest you get and thats not even something tangible like the fucking rest are.
