you might notice the screen is kind of shaky, make sure you didn't start the emulation yet or stop the emulation and go to:
>go to Settings > Core and Video Settings > ParaLLEl Video>check "DeinterlaceWeave" and then close the settings window. Also set up your controller or set up keyboard controls if you don't have a controller.
>go to Settings > Controller Configuration > Manage Profiles and choose either New Profile (Keyboard) or New Profile (Gamepad)Then just run the game.
If you try either one, I recommend Pokemon Stadium Legacy first because the person who made it seems to have put a lot of effort into it and even added more extras like post game battles. I think they're also going to make a similar hack for Pokemon Stadium 2.
Or, if you want to actually go through with transferring your own pokemon from your own save files, then you can always do that with the vanilla games. If you didn't know, the rental pokemon in pokemon stadium 1/2 vanilla were complete shit, especially in 1, where it makes the game insanely hard or nearly impossible to beat the round 2 fights and get all of the pokemon into the hall of fame. They did this because they wanted you to import and use your own pokemon. They seem to have forgotten this with the Switch release, though. So whatever you do, just don't suffer trying to use the rentals in vanilla Stadium 1/2 and do not play it on Switch.
