>>43991938>>43991961>Apocial’s government.Remember the war that Lt. Surge fought it? That gets expanded greatly in this timeline. The jist of Apociral’s involvement in the war was that it supplied its allies, arrogantly thought it could defend itself, got BTFO immediately, and was occupied by Sinnoh (its neighbor) for many years after the war.
Today, Apocial uses domestic propaganda to try and distract from its true place in the world, claiming that the region has “the richest lore, the finest culture, power and resources beyond imagining”, etc. In reality though, Apocial is under heavy reparations. Apocial can’t have a standing military, can only legally trade with Unova, and can only partake in international discussions if Sinnoh, Kalos, and Kanto unanimously agree to let it. This includes matters that effect Apocial.
Since the reparations prevent the hiding of information, the internet’s made Apocrial’s global position very obvious to the public. The region’s modern culture is a weird contrast between decades of borderline masturbatory self-idealization and a public now fully aware of how worthless they really are. Add rampant exploitative capitalism and you have Apocial, the “Bountiful Heaven of the Merciful Gods”, as the Department of Domestic Image called it for years.
