My problem with this is that they completely aren't willing to give a chance to new and adapting strategies and movesets to counter SwagPlay. Every time someone mentions a new alternative, it is immediately disregarded as "fucking stupid" or "useless."
I understand that the whole metagame that GameFreak has isn't completely balanced, but immediately removing anything that goes against the standard playstyle (read: hyper-offense) really shows just how close-minded Smogon actually is.
A lot of people have already proposed taking a more defensive playstyle to counter SwagPlay, which is perfectly viable. Yet, once again, people cry out because adapting the metagame to the current situation is a heresy. Yet, 4th gen is an example of how stupid these people are, as the metagame in that gen pretty much forced almost any team to run a Pokemon that could stall, yet no one complained back then.
Then there are the weather wars in 5th gen. If you weren't running something that could change the weather to your favor, you were pretty much dead to all the shit that could be thrown at you. Yet, once again, the only ban that happened addressing that issue managed to make Kingdra basically go fuck himself while the weather wars went on.
If this doesn't show how stupidly hypocritical Smogon is, then I don't know what does.
